Garlic Bread

Hey Jennifer,

I could eat garlic bread all day long, so I made this recipe with extra garlic, extra butter all on a big fluffy hunk of bread! There’s nothing like a big crusty chunk of garlic bread to dip in my favorite soups or stews or to sop up a really saucy Italian dish. I just wouldn’t recommend enjoying this on a date night ha ha! Enjoy!

Garlic Bread

Servings: 8-10

  • 1 large loaf of Italian bread
  • 1/2 cup butter at room temp.
  • 2T chopped garlic
  • 1 1/2t Italian Seasoning
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (the powdered kind)
  • 1/2 cup Italian cheese mix (Mozzarella & Parmesan)
  • Pepper to taste

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a small bowl combine butter, garlic and Italian seasoning.

  2. Slice the loaf long ways with a serrated knife. Slather both halves (on the cut side) with the butter mixture. Put the loaf back together and wrap the entire loaf in aluminum foil. Place in the oven for about 7 minutes. Remove from the oven and separate the two halves. Discard the aluminum foil. Lay the two halves butter side up on a cookie sheet. Sprinkle the tops with all the cheeses then lightly sprinkle with black pepper.

  3. Place back in the oven uncovered (with the buttered sides up). Let toast for about 5 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.

  4. Slice into big hunks and serve warm. Or you can just eat the loaf whole all by yourself. Whatever you want…I won’t judge!
